Eric Soltys joined RSG Hockey in 2025, bringing over 25 years of experience in elite coaching, scouting, and player development. With a career that spans both the NHL and top-tier amateur programs, Eric offers clients a unique blend of on-ice insight, strategic planning, and high-performance mentorship.
He spent nine seasons as an NHL scout with the Detroit Red Wings and Calgary Flames, contributing to talent identification and organizational development at the highest level of the game. Prior to his scouting career, Eric held coaching roles with several championship-caliber programs, including the University of Maine Black Bears (NCAA), the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (CHL), and U.S. prep school powerhouses Shattuck-St. Mary’s and South Kent Selects Academy, the latter of which he co-founded. His coaching tenure includes multiple league championships and two National Championships, and he has played an instrumental role in developing dozens of athletes who have advanced to the NHL.
As a Performance Coach and Consultant at RSG, Eric focuses on integrating analytical data, personalized player development, and holistic wellness strategies. He works with a broad range of clients, from high-potential youth prospects to AHL and NHL veterans, tailoring performance plans to maximize growth and longevity in the game.
In addition to his development work, Eric also serves as a trusted consultant on NCAA and NIL matters, guiding players and families through the increasingly complex collegiate landscape with clarity, strategy, and a deep understanding of the system.
